A Big Thank You & Season Recap
First off, a huge thank you to all our readers and followers! Your support since we launched the EquiAnalytix Blog has been incredible. Over the past year we’ve covered the major racing festivals and delivered some fantastic results. In total, we’ve published 236 Blog selections with 56 winners – a strike rate of 23.7%. That has translated to a profit of +96.7 points if placing a simple 1pt win on each selection, which is a remarkable 41.0% ROI% to Industry SP (and an even more impressive 51.39% if you took Tote dividends on our picks). We couldn’t have achieved these results without your enthusiasm and trust in our data-driven approach.
We’ve enjoyed success at nearly every big meeting along the way. Here’s a quick recap of how EquiAnalytix performed at the major festivals:

In terms of individual highlights, the data has picked out some massive winners at big odds. We’ve cashed in on a 25/1 stunner (She’s A Saint) at Aintree and a 20/1 shot (Lecky Watson) at Cheltenham, among many other double-figure odds triumphs. The pinnacle was undoubtedly a 22,000/1 treble of winners on the Friday at the Aintree Festival this year – a once-in-a-lifetime day where outsiders Gentleman De Mee, Julius Des Pictons, and She’s A Saint all won on the same card! It’s been an amazing journey so far, and I am delighted that so many of you have joined the community along the way.
EquiAnalytix Partners with the Tote
We’re also excited to announce a new partnership with the Tote! 🎉 This collaboration is fantastic news for our community, as it brings a host of benefits that align perfectly with our analytics-driven betting approach. If you’re not familiar, the Tote is the UK’s premier pool betting operator, and teaming up with them means you get the best of both worlds – the data’s smart approach to selections combined with the Tote’s unique advantages. Here’s why this is a big win for all EquiAnalytix followers:
- Winners Welcome: Tired of bookies limiting your stakes when you’re on a winning run? The Tote never restricts or bans profitable bettors. Because it’s pool betting (where all bets go into a pot), you can win as much as you like – the Tote actually welcomes winning punters. No more worries about getting your account “gubbed” for success!
- Tote Guarantee – SP as a Minimum: The Tote now offers an SP Guarantee on UK win bets. That means if the Tote dividend for a horse ends up paying less than the official Starting Price, they will automatically match the SP. You’ll never get worse odds than the bookies – only equal or better. It’s a brilliant safety net that ensures you always get fair value on our tips.
- Exotic Bets & World Pool Value: With the Tote, you have access to huge exotic pools like the Exacta (pick the first 2 horses), Trifecta (first 3), and Swinger (any 2 of the first 3) – bet types where data-driven strategies can really pay off. On World Pool days (major race days where bettors from around the globe combine into one massive pool), the liquidity is enormous. More money in the pool means better liquidity and often bigger payouts, as dividends can be juicy when our data selections beat the crowd. It also makes for a more exciting betting experience – you’re effectively betting into a global pool with tens of millions in play, which can lead to some eye-popping returns on outsiders and combos.
Importantly, this partnership means EquiAnalytix content will now include exclusive insights for World Pool events. We want you to fully capitalise on those opportunities. Our analysis will highlight value plays in the pools (be it a an Exacta or an overlooked runner) so you can make the most of the Tote’s offerings. The first of these will come next week with the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket – the first Classic of the flat season, which is a World Pool event. We’ll be providing comprehensive coverage and analysis for Guineas weekend, leveraging the Tote’s pools for maximum value.
For example, of the 236 Blog selections, there were 64 individual races where the data provided 2 selections in the same race. If you had exploited the Tote’s exotics markets for those selections, you would be staggered by the results..
Exacta Market (reverse) – for a stake of £128, you would’ve returned £388.70 for an outstanding ROI of 204!%
Swinger Market (any 2 of the top 3) – for a stake of £64, you would’ve returned £74.75 for an ROI of 17%!
You can expect plenty of new content around ways that you can maximise your returns from our data-driven approach with the Tote. There is a wealth of pools available and with our newly formed partnership, you can expect lots of exciting opportunities for EquiAnalytix members in the coming months.
Sandown Jumps Finale
Before the curtain falls on the 2024/25 Jumps season, we have one final National Hunt extravaganza: Sandown’s Jump Finale this Saturday. This meeting not only features some top-class races, but it will also decide the outcome of the Trainers’ Championship in a dramatic finale. In a thrilling twist, Dan Skelton and Willie Mullins are virtually neck-and-neck in the race for the British trainers’ title, and the results at Sandown will determine who comes out on top. Skelton – having had a stellar season on home soil – is bidding to secure his first UK championship, while Irish maestro Mullins has amassed enough prize money (thanks largely to raiding our big spring festivals) to mount a serious challenge for the crown. Both men are sending strong squads to Sandown, and every pound of prize money won on the day counts. This rivalry adds extra spice to an already exciting card – expect plenty of tactical jockey bookings and maybe a few Irish dark horses sent over in search of crucial prize money. It’s not often we see the trainers’ title come down to the final day like this, so the stage is set for a cracking climax to the season!
Now, let’s look at the key races on the Sandown card that will bring the jumps season to a close.
Race 2: bet365 Josh Gifford Novices Handicap Chase (GBB Race)
With Race 1 not having a standout on the figures, our first feature race is Race 2, a Novices Handicap Chase over the 2m 4f trip.
Race Analysis:
We will find ourselves discussing these two trainer all day but it’s Dan Skelton who looks to hold plenty of the aces in this contest. His RISKINTHEGROUND will prove very popular on the afternoon, as this horse has been instrumental in the last few weeks bringing in prize money, winning at both Ayr and Cheltenham within 5 days. The horse has been busy, but ratings of 148 and 134 for those efforts are very solid. He will of course be very tough to beat, but a further rise in the weights and drying ground might just set this race up a little differently, and the market is suggesting it’s wide open.
MARK OF GOLD represents the Moore’s and being by Golden Horn, he is the very best bred in this field for fences. However the handicapper looks to have his mark and top weight will be no easy task. Instead, I want to focus in on the recent performances of MAHONS GLORY for Newmarket trainer Dylan Cunha. Dylan of course is far better know for his winners on the flat, but you wouldn’t have thought so after watching this horse jump the last twice, grinding his opposition into submission under positive tactics and in the process earning standout figures of 143 and 144 when doing so. On a day where all eyes may be on Dan and Willie, it may just help to look at the value on offer elsewhere and this horse is a great example of that.

Race 3: bet365 Oaksey Chase (Grade 2) (For The Menorah Challenge Trophy) (GBB Race)
The Oaksey Chase is our first Graded contest of the afternoon, a Grade 2 over the extended 2m 6f trip, and this is a race that features several of the Willie Mullins “Big Guns”!
Race Analysis:
Most will by now have latched onto GAELIC WARRIOR who for all his quirks this season, put in a career best when upped in trip at Aintree last time. He was very impressive that day, and earned an equally impressive figure of 200. On any normal afternoon that would be enough to see this horse go odds on, and win as he liked. However, this is a very competitive contest, and there are several other horses here of interest.
BOOMBAWN has been a steep upward trajectory of late, recording figures of 61, 118 and most recently 170 when beaten at Aintree. Those numbers are of course impressive, but much more will be required here. The same can be said for a few of these, and my suspicion is that PIC DORHY may just be the one they all have to beat having been kept fresh after extending his remarkable record at Ascot. However, the horse I think is capable of even more is GENTLEMAN DE MEE. This horse received a nice shoutout earlier on in the blog given he was a brilliant winner for readers on Day 2 at Aintree in the Topham. That was a handicap, and he is pitched back into Graded company but don’t forget this horse finished 2nd in a Champion Chase, and his Topham victory earned him an outstanding figure of 203, marginally the best in this field. The trip looks to have allowed this horse settle and travel better and I would not be surprised to see him bang there when they turn for home under Mark Walsh.

Race 5: bet365 Celebration Chase (Grade 1) (GBB Race)
We head now straight to Race 5 for the Grade 1 Celebration Chase, which really does revolve around one very special horse.
Race Analysis:
The horse in question is of course JONBON, who today will look to extend a remarkable career of victories, of course this time under the first time assistance of jockey Mark Walsh. On all figures, form and data, this horse should be winning and I would imagine it will be Mullins and Skelton fighting it out for 2nd and 3rd prize money. JONBON has his doubters, and the data has been correct several times in taking him on, but at this course under these conditions he looks very difficult to stop.

Race 6: bet365 Gold Cup Handicap Chase (Premier Handicap) (GBB Race)
Race 6 is arguably the most important race of the afternoon as if the Trainers Championship isn’t wrapped up by then, this will decide. Willie has elected to declare 10 of the 20-strong field for this year’s Sandown Gold Cup, but can anyone stop him?
Race Analysis:
First a word about this race as it truly is a real test of stamina in these seasoned chasers. The extended 3m 4 trip is gruelling, as is the uphill finish at Sandown where often the home straight after the last fence can be a very lonely place for horses. This year’s renewal is one of the best quality that I’ve seen in years and if it wasn’t for Dan and Willie going head to head, we wouldn’t have many of these horses running. People have had plenty to say about the coverage of this head-to-head, but for me it’s simple.. it brings in better quality horses, which means better quality racing for us all, and that can never be a bad thing.
So with 10 of the 20 coming from the Willie Mullins camp, we could indeed have a Blog post dedicated to them alone! GRANGECLARE WEST looks to better his tremendous (we’re biased as the data selected him) Grand National 3rd but will have to carry top weight to do so. His run in the National earned him a very good figure of 157 which betters most of the day’s opposition. But that will have been a very hard race on the horse and it would be a remarkable effort to see follow that up with a victory here. MINELLA COCOONER has a similar profile, as does OMOORE PARK who have all had plenty of racing recently. The enigma that is GOSHEN appears here over a trip 1m 4f further than his dramatic race in the Triumph Hurdle in 2020, but the less said there the better!
The Olly Murphy & Sean Bowen combination are in terrific form, with the latter set to crowned Champion Jockey during the afternoon. He would be desperate for a win here to really round off his season, and RESPLENDENT GREY has a good chance at doing that, my concern would be a real tapering off of his ratings of late. Of the rest it’s very difficult to make a case but there is one horse here that really just stands out from a data perspective, and that’s HIGH CLASS HERO. The choice of jockey Paul Townend, this Willie Mullins trained horse looks to have the ideal profile for this race. He has been lightly campaigned over fences so far, having won just once from his 4 starts over the larger obstacles. But it was his most recent start at Thurles in March that really interests me. Finishing 2nd behind Common Practice from the Joseph O’Brien stable, this horse earned an eye-catching figure of 195. That is the very best piece of form on offer in this race and with Paul having had the choice of all 10 of Willie’s horses, it cements this horse has having a great chance of landing the odds, and this masterful trainer another Trainers’ Championship.
